Mathematics Instructor

How would you like to teach a small classroom full of your very best students? With no paperwork, meetings, or supervisors looking over your shoulder? We seek experienced, energetic instructors to teach high-performing students in an after-school environment. You will be working with top students, using a curriculum designed specifically for their needs. Every year the Art of Problem Solving book series and website trains the very best math students from around the world, including our own United States International Math Olympiad team. Teaching at AoPS Academy allows you to:

  • Teach in dynamic, participation-oriented classes that focus on inquiry and problem-solving, not rote memorization and repetition.
  • Work in small classes with top performing elementary, middle, and high school students who are passionate about math and motivated to succeed.
  • Spend your time teaching, not grading or dealing with administrative issues.
  • Work in a flexible, family-friendly company with a strong sense of mission.
  • Spend a few evenings or weekends doing important and fulfilling work.
  • Teach as few or as many classes as you wish. Classes meet once per week during the academic year.

Requirements

Our instructors must be able to work well with enthusiastic, high-performing students. The ideal applicant will have a solid background in mathematics and at least one year of teaching experience. A master's degree in mathematics or a related field is ideal.

Language Arts Instructor

You will be working with top students, using a curriculum designed specifically for their needs. Our rigorous, comprehensive curriculum integrates grammar, vocabulary, and writing instruction. We give our students the best education possible to succeed as writers and scholars. Teaching at AoPS Academy allows you to:

  • Teach in dynamic, participation-oriented classes that focus on inquiry and rigorous study of language.
  • Work in small classes with top performing elementary, middle, and high school students who are passionate about learning and motivated to succeed.
  • Spend your time teaching, not grading or dealing with administrative issues.
  • Work in a flexible, family-friendly company with a strong sense of mission.
  • Spend a few evenings or weekends doing important and fulfilling work.
  • Teach as few or as many classes as you wish. Classes meet once per week during the academic year.
